Southwest Florida | Monday–Friday | Permanent
Salary: $325,000–$400,000 annually (based on experience)
Bonuses & Incentives: Relocation assistance
Schedule: Day shift | No nights | No weekends

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hematopathologist to provide high-level, contemporary hematopathology services in Southwest Florida. This role integrates morphologic examination with advanced diagnostic modalities including Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, FISH, and Molecular Genetics.
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of attending-level hematopathology experience and demonstrate strong diagnostic leadership, clinical collaboration, and quality-focused practice. Exceptional candidates with slightly less experience may be considered.
- Provide expert diagnostic interpretation of bone marrow, lymph node, biopsy, and cytology specimens, including gross and microscopic evaluation
- Dictate, review, and electronically release finalized pathology reports
- Interpret complex laboratory and ancillary diagnostic data
- Integrate Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, FISH, and Molecular studies into comprehensive final diagnoses
- Participate in case consultation and sign-out, with availability to support clients across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases
- Perform and oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities
- Provide mentorship and diagnostic support to technologists and laboratory staff
- Serve as Delegated Clinical Consultant when assigned by the Site Medical Director
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative leadership to maintain exceptional turnaround time (TAT), quality, and service standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians and clinical partners
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Board Certification in Hematopathology (required)
- Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of attending-level hematopathology experience strongly preferred
- Active or eligible unrestricted Florida medical license required
- Eligibility for California, New York, and/or Texas licensure a plus
- Demonstrated success working in multidisciplinary and senior-level clinical environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience with automated Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), including electronic reporting and digital signatures
