Job Location: Norman, OK (OKC Suburb)

Shift: Day Shift, M-F

Description: A well-established pathology group providing services to a regional health system in Norman, Oklahoma is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pathologists’ Assistant to join its team. This position supports high-quality patient care through accurate specimen handling, gross examination, and close collaboration with board-certified pathologists in a hospital-based setting. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to quality and safety.
Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological or health science discipline required
  • Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • ASCP certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant (PA-ASCP) preferred or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Prior experience in a pathology laboratory preferred but not required; new graduates encouraged to apply
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, pathology terminology, and laboratory practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities 
  • Perform and assist with gross examination and sampling of a broad range of hospital- and clinic-based surgical specimens
  • Accurately document gross findings in a clear and timely manner
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory standards in the grossing area
  • Perform frozen sections during regular work hours
  • Assist with neonatal autopsies only; no adult autopsies required
  • No call responsibilities
