Key Responsibilities:

• The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the oversight of assigned laboratory sections performing specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results in compliance with regulatory requirements, policy, and procedures. 

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.

• Record, analyze, and report test results accurately.

• Follow established quality control procedures and safety protocols.

• Correlates laboratory results with clinical findings through chart review and consultation with nursing and medical staff.

• Provides instruction on basic theory, laboratory technique, instrumentation, and application of lab test procedures to new scientists, technicians, and staff.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and work in a team setting. 

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in laboratory, biological, chemical, or physical science, Healthcare, or Healthcare Management related field.

• Current certification/licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP or equivalent preferred).
