Job Title: Histology Technician

Job Location: Tallahassee, FL 

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-5p

Weekly Estimated Pay or Pay Range: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour

Qualifications: 

• FL Histology License and  ASCP certifications are required
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a histology lab, performing microtomy and embedding is required
• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
• Immunohistochemistry experience is a plus
• Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens
• Ability to accurately read all labels and documents
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirable
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

• Processing, embedding, and cutting of tissue specimens
• Staining and cover-slipping of slides
• Performing special and immunohistochemical staining procedures
• Performing frozen section procedures
• Labeling, correlating, distributing, and filing slide
• Performing and documenting quality control
• Reagent maintenance and cleaning of processors and stainers
• Other laboratory duties as assigned
