Job Location: Arizona
Facility Type: Hospital based lab
Number of PAs or HTs when fully staffed: 4 other HTs, including working supervisor
Start Date: Asap
End Date: 13 weeks, potential to extend
Schedule: M-F, 8am to 4:30pm
Summary of position: 98% grossing role
The Grossing Histotechnician is responsible for the accurate examination, description, and dissection of surgical specimens in a pathology laboratory. This role ensures proper tissue sampling for histologic processing and diagnosis under the supervision of a pathologist.
Qualifications:
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or related field
Certification (preferred or required)
- HT or HTL certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Experience
- 1–3 years of histology or grossing experience preferred
